As we bid farewell to 2023, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement for the remarkable journey we’ve undertaken together. Your unwavering support has propelled us toward our vision of a centrally located facility, serving as a regional hub for homelessness and food services.
In the past year, we’ve achieved significant milestones as a result of our supporters’ generosity. These include:
- Opening an Engagement Center where 223 clients have stayed and accessed day services
- The first Warming Center to operate from Somerville, sheltering 54 homeless clients
- The purchase of a Mobile Shower Van to restore client dignity and self-worth
- Serving 6,800 community meals and distributing 65,000 bags of groceries to the food insecure and most vulnerable
- Preventing 134 evictions with over $1,000,0000 of funds
As we celebrate these achievements, let’s carry this momentum into the coming year. We have a strong desire and motivation to move our services forward from good to exceptional. This means providing the same level of trust, respect and impact but going further and providing wraparound services for the homeless, this includes:
- Growth in programming – showers, laundry, community kitchen and workforce development
- Growth in crisis response – doubled shelter beds, flexible space for warming/cooling center
- Multi-use space for complementary services, such as physical and behavioral healthcare
