Volunteer at Project SOUP
Cook a Monday Night Community Meal
This opportunity is ideal for a group of friends, a church group, or a business looking to get their employees involved locally. We serve about 50 people each Monday at the First Church in Somerville (89 College Ave). The meal is grab-and-go, with 50 individually packaged meals prepared ahead of time. Cook a Meal for the Adult Shelter
We have approximately 16 guests staying at our Adult Shelter, located on College Ave in Somerville. Home-cooked meals are always welcome. Please contact Sydney at [email protected] to coordinate drop-off.
Purchase A Meal For Our Engagement Center Clients
Through our Meal Train page you can help keep the clients at our Engagement Center from going hungry by volunteering to cook and deliver a meal to the Engagement Center or donate gift cards to local restaurants and food services. With 263 new clients in the last year and counting, this is a great way to provide sustainable food options for our clients experiencing homelessness. Click here to learn more and sign up!
Host a Food Drive
We distribute over 60,000 bags of groceries each year through Project SOUP, which takes a lot of food! Hosting a food drive is a great way to get involved with SHC. Please call Project SOUP at 617-776-7687 for more information.

Host an Event
On Behalf Of events are a great way to give back while having fun! Do you have an annual block party? Or, perhaps you have a garage sale planned. We encourage people and businesses looking for a fun way to support SHC to host an event on our behalf and donate the proceeds to help our clients.
