Serena Hollmeyer Taylor
President of the Board
Serena has spent her career working with policymakers, entrepreneurs, and last mile-consumers on the social, political, and economic boundaries of domestic and global communities. In Vermont Serena designed and led programs for public health organizations and received the Loomis Fellowship for two years at the Vermont ACLU while working as the lead legislative advocate. She has worked with support and partnership from the United Nations, Siemens Stiftung, National Geographic, and others to foster and find commonalities by bringing diverse groups together around common goals. Serena obtained her Bachelors in Geology from the University of Vermont and a Masters of International Law & Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. She lives with her family in Somerville.
Sébastien Cimon Gagnon

Sébastien joined the board of SHC in January of 2021, became Vice-President in May of 2024, and has been Treasurer since June of 2025. He holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial sciences from Laval University and is a credentialed Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. Sébastien’s involvement with this organization originated from one belief: everyone deserves a safe and dignified place to call home.
Kevin Chaves
Chair of the Development Committee
Kevin Chaves is a First Vice President Regional Manager at Cambridge Savings Bank. In his current role, Kevin leads a Region consisting of 9 Retail Branches, including a team of 50 individuals. He currently resides in Billerica, MA and is active in several communities. For the last five years, Kevin has served on the Board of Directors at the Somerville Chamber of Commerce and over this past year, serves on the board of the Somerville Homeless Coalition. Kevin graduated The American Bankers Association’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking Program at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Management.
Mahesh Bhatia
Board Member
Mahesh is a mission-driven financial executive with more than three decades of leadership across nonprofit, corporate, and publicly traded organizations. He has served as Chief Financial Officer for mission-focused organizations, partnering with CEOs and boards to align financial stewardship and long-term strategy with community impact. He brings experience in multi-entity and multi-country oversight, investment governance, capital planning, mergers and acquisitions, and financial systems implementation. Originally from India, Mahesh has lived and worked in India, Dubai, Canada, and the United States, bringing a global perspective and steady governance mindset. He believes strongly in building sustainable, human-centered systems of care that expand opportunity and dignity. He serves on two nonprofit boards as a Board Member and Finance Committee Chair/Treasurer, supporting strong governance and sustainable growth. Mahesh holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Chartered Accountant and Certified Public Accountant.
Zane Fernandez
Board Member
Zane has worked as a corporate attorney and currently serves as a legal recruiter, helping attorneys and law firms nationwide on strategic career placement. Zane holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School and a B.A. in Political Science and Jewish Studies from the City College of New York. Zane joined the Board of Directors in 2026 and is passionate about advancing economic and social justice. Zane believes stable housing is foundational to dignity, economic mobility, and thriving communities, and he is committed to advancing Somerville Homeless Coalition’s mission of providing individualized supportive services and tailored housing solutions.
Alex Hall
Board Member
Alex is a talent and workforce strategy leader with over 14 years of experience in workforce planning, performance strategy, compensation design, and organizational effectiveness. He is the founder of Valinor Talent Solutions, where he partners with growing and enterprise organizations to design scalable talent systems, accelerate leadership capability, and align people strategy to business outcomes. Previously, Alex held senior talent leadership roles at a Fortune 100 company, leading global talent programs, succession strategy, and strategic workforce initiatives.
Alex holds an M.B.A. from Northeastern University, an M.S. in Human Resources from Western Carolina University, a certificate in I/O Psychology, and a B.S. in Business Administration.
Paige Huggins
Board Member
Paige Huggins, Esq. is a Staff Attorney for a nonprofit medical-legal partnership serving the Boston area, where she provides legal assistance to improve housing stability. She holds a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law and B.A. in Public Health from Mercyhurst University. Paige’s work centers the important positive health outcomes that stem from stable housing. She believes in housing as a human right and dignity for all.
Deborah Morgan
Board Member
Deborah has volunteered with Somerville Homeless Coalition in various capacities for more than a decade and she joined the Board of Directors in 2015. Deborah holds a B.A. from Hampshire College and she brings extensive experience in the fields of human resources, operations, and administration. Deborah is passionately committed to Somerville Homeless Coalition’s mission of finding everyone a home and is thrilled to support them in their ongoing work.
Jena Murphy
Board Member
Jena Murphy has more than 25 years of experience in public relations, leading strategic planning and execution of media relations campaigns for global technology companies.
In 2026, she joined the Board of Directors to share her expertise in communications to help support the important mission of the Somerville Homeless Coalition: finding everyone a home.
Sharla Randazzo
Board Member
Sharla Randazzo, MSW, LICSW, has worked in the human services field since 1996 in a variety of roles. She is currently a Senior Leader for a non-profit human services agency as well as a professor of graduate school at Boston College. Sharla joined the board of Somerville Homeless Coalition in January of 2024 as she is deeply committed to the work of securing housing for the unhoused and working toward systems change. When not working or volunteering, Sharla enjoys being outdoors, exercising, spending time with her three children, and gardening.
Steven Tran
Board Member
Steven Tran built his career around supporting nonprofits, with a focus on financial strategy, contracts management, and operational efficiency. As Executive Vice President of Finance and Contracts of Activate Global, he oversees financial planning, grants management, and accounting, ensuring resources and processes are aligned with strategy. Steven brings a proven ability to guide organizations through complex funding landscapes and governance challenges. He joins the board of Somerville Homeless Coalition to apply his skills toward ending homelessness in the community. Steven holds an M.B.A. from Boston University, a Master’s Certificate in Government Contracts from the University of Virginia, and a B.S. in Economics and Finance from Bentley University.
Tom White
Board Member
A past President of the Board of Directors, Tom continues as a member of the Board of Directors where he has served for 17 years. As an experienced business executive and a graduate of the Harvard Business School with a Masters in Business Administration, he brings valuable skills to the board as the board addresses its fiduciary responsibilities and its management challenges.
